I am often rushed in the mornings and therefore really, really bad about having a good morning skincare routine. However, I try to make up for it with a thorough nighttime skincare routine — or, at minimum, making sure I never rarely sleep with makeup on and at least go over my face with a makeup wipe and remover each night.

Most nights, however, I try to go a little more in-depth with my routine. The multiple steps help me a) feel like I am making up for pretty much only rinsing my face before putting makeup on in the morning, b) really truly get all the gunk and dirt off my face from the day and, of course, c) wind down for the evening and get ready for bed.

So without further ado, here are the steps and the products I love in my nighttime skincare routine:

Why are favorites videos so fun? It’s like “what’s in my bag videos”… I am always so curious to know what products my favorite bloggers and vloggers are loving lately. SO, I thought I would do my own this month!

BONUS NOVEMBER FAVORITE: THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES AND ALL OF CHICAGO WENT CRAZY! I watched the game with some friends at a bar and then we went to Wrigleyville to soak it all in. Literally. I was covered in champagne and beer, basically. I am so sleep deprived, you guys, but it is so worth it to experience this historic moment.

Blow dry bars in their current incarnation might seem like a recent trend, but women have been going to the salon to get their hair “did” for decades now. However, entire spaces dedicated to the blowout — no cut, no color, , just style? That’s a newer concept, for sure.

Yes, blowouts are definitely a luxury, but for an incredibly thick-haired girl like myself, they’re also a godsend. I don’t even own a blowdryer because it takes me so long to do it (plus my arms get tired), and even “easy” beach waves take me half an hour on a quick day. So if I have a special occasion and room in my budget to pay someone to do my hair for me, um, yes, I will do so. Here are five of the best Chicago blow dry bars if you feel like treating yo self, too:

Drugstore beauty buys are either the best or worst kept secret of the beauty world, depending on your shopping habits and level of snobbery. My champagne taste has led me to do most of my beauty shopping at places like Sephora/Nordstrom/Barney’s, but in my continuing quest to look good and expensive and stylish without actually spending my whole paycheck, I’m incorporating more and more drugstore beauty products into my routine. Here are a few of my favorites:

Ouai Hair has been on my radar since it debuted earlier this year, and the signal is definitely getting stronger — thanks in part to the brand’s killer social media presence. If you’re unfamiliar, Ouai was launched by stylist Jen Atkin (her clients include the Kardashians) and promises “effortless everyday style” — uh, yeah, I can get behind that. So I finally took the plunge and snagged two products from the line.
