Thanksgiving (aka next week…when did that happen??) marks one of the busiest travel weeks of the year. December doesn’t exactly get much calmer, either. And when you’re dealing with the stress and anxiety of holiday travel, your outfit shouldn’t be a contributing factor.
Luckily, it’s possible to be both comfortable and chic, no matter how long your flight is. There’s a pretty easy formula you can follow when putting together a travel outfit, too: pants with some stretch, an easy top, something to layer and comfortable shoes. Who What Wear even put together a handy little gif illustrating it:
Now that you know the formula, here are five holiday travel outfit ideas that would be perfect for Thanksgiving travel (plus items to add to your own travel wardrobe!)
Sincerely Jules proves that even ultra comfy pieces like joggers can be stylish when they’re part of a monochromatic look.
Leather-look leggings are a great way to elevate an otherwise comfy-cozy travel look — just look at Haute off the Rack (above) and Harper and Harley (below).
Coatigans are perfect for travel: light enough to layer but warm enough to stay comfortable on cold, cold airplanes. Just ask Brooklyn Blonde.
If you need to look a bit more formal upon landing, just look to Alexa Chung’s ensemble via Who What Wear: skinny jeans, a button-down and a soft blazer. Still comfortable, but presentable enough for a business trip.
