Los Angeles, California Packing List – Abigail Nora

Or, what to pack for Los Angeles if you have unlimited budget to run out and buy a whole bunch of new clothes before your trip.

Wait, what?

Okay, in all seriousness, this is pretty much what I will be packing for my upcoming trip to Los Angeles, and it’s a mix of items that works well for a number of warm-weather getaways. (Mom, if you’re reading this, I own super similar stuff already k great thanks!) While I’ll only be in Los Angeles about four days, you could create quite a lot of outfits from the above. In fact, here are five examples:

I pretty much live in jeans and actually find them super comfy (especially Madewell’s!) – making this simple denim, t-shirt and lightweight trench combo a great travel day outfit. Plus, I am just obsessed with that vintage-style Diane Von Furstenberg luggage.

Get in on the lace-up trend with this sweet little number from H&M. This look is great for any dressier activities on the agenda, or if you just feel like looking a little more put-together. When packing, you can stash accessories and toiletries inside the smaller bag to save space in your suitcase, too. Rebecca Minkoff Mini MACs are great because you can wear them crossbody, double the chain to make it shorter or even carry as a clutch.

Okay, LA is warm, right? So I’ll be taking some shorts — plus a jean jacket for chilly air conditioned interiors. I love this on-trend off-the-shoulder top, too, and a backpack is perfect for both shopping and sightseeing.

This outfit is perfect for brunch, coffee shops and other travel activities. Grab your lightweight trench if it’s going to be a bit cooler.

Finally, if jeans aren’t your travel-day jam, try a travel-day dress instead. The booties (with no show socks) are key for security lines, though! And make sure to grab a big old blanket scarf — preferably a cashmere blend, like this J.Crew one — for chilly plane air. (Although I personally will be packing my black Zara blanket scarf which, while lacking cashmere, is one of the best things I own.)

That’s not all your outfit options, though! You could wear the t-shirt with the shorts and jeans, and swap out the jackets as well for even more variety, or even just wear the dress on its own. So many possibilities!
