When you’re Beyoncé, you never have to announce anything. You just do it … to borrow the slogan of a different athletic-wear company.

Yep, that’s right, Beyhive: Beyoncé is entering the athleisure space with the launch of Ivy Park. Okay, okay, I guess technically this is an announcement, since the collection doesn’t officially launch until April 14. But still! She dropped the video and the Instagram account on us out of nowhere! In fact, I had another post planned for today, but Queen B basically preempts all. Sorry Charlie.

Where is my park? I don’t know, Beyoncé, but now I want to find out, preferably in an Ivy Park crewneck sweatshirt and leggings. (Or maybe a hoodie, for my Kendall Jenner street style look…)

There is, of course, an Instagram for the brand, and a website, which promises sneak previews of all-new music from Beyoncé’s sixth studio album (!!!). Have I been cycling through the website tracks all night long? You betcha.

Apparently, the “Ivy” part of “Ivy Park” is a nod to the number four — IV in Roman numerals — not Miss Blue Ivy herself. Even though Blue is in the promo video absolutely slaying in her little Ivy Park gloves. You see, Beyoncé was born September 4, Jay Z was born December 4 and their anniversary is April 4. Or maybe it’s both Blue Ivy and the number thing. I’m gonna go both…but we can probably find out for sure in the May “Women in Music” issue of ELLE Magazine, featuring a rare Beyoncé interview and cover.

At any rate, the collection was developed in collaboration with Topshop’s Sir Philip Green, and will be available at TopshopNordstrom and Net-a-Porter beginning April 14… just in time for me to scoop up some pieces before Beyoncé’s Chicago stop on the Formation World Tour. Because I’m thinking that this might be a very good Beyoncé-concert outfit option.
