There are a lot of online interior design services out there, but I find myself returning time and time again to Havenly for decor inspiration that feels both cool and attainable. And this is super, duper true when it comes to the home of Shelby Girard, who just so happens to be Havenly’s head of interior design.
Shelby and her husband recently purchased and renovated a townhouse in Denver, Colorado — and completed it in four months.
“Overall, we loved the bones of the house (which was built in 1889) but knew we wanted to modernize it with new finishes and make it more functional by updating the layout in places while maintaining the historic charm of the home,” Shelby told MyDomaine. She calls her interior style “Parisian Modern” — “a chic contrast of minimal, ornate, and edgy.”
The space also features a good mix of high-low pieces, like a Jonathan Adler vase displayed on a Nate Berkus coffee table. And the coffee table actually costs less than the vase! (Thanks, Target.) Take a peek at Shelby’s enviable space in the photos below:
I love how airy and open the space feels, even with the bold black and white elements. (Those high ceilings certainly don’t hurt.)
This oil portrait was painted by Shelby’s grandfather — and there’s the aforementioned Nate Berkus coffee table/Jonathan Adler vase combo!
Shelby’s home is mostly done in bold-yet-neutral shades of black, white and gold, but she manages to keep it interesting with a mix of texture, patterns and even decor styles. Shop pieces from and inspired by her home below:
