Like many fans of Wes Anderson, I’ve often dreamed of living in one of his films. That’s a step closer to being possible thanks to Bar Luce, a bar and cafe designed by Anderson in Milan’s Fondazione Prada. Yes, that Prada. The fashion brand has an “art and culture complex” in Milan, because of course they do.

Designer Miuccia Prada had the idea to have a film director design the space, but it took some convincing before Anderson finally agreed. “He said, ‘No, no, no!’ ” she told W Magazine. “After many months, I finally convinced him. And I was right, because this bar is not a normal place—it is an extension of Wes’s art.”

Unlike Anderson’s films, which famously feature symmetry, Bar Luce has nooks, crannies and seating galore. It is, as Anderson says, a space for real life. “While I do think it would make a pretty good movie set, I think it would be an even better place to write a movie. I tried to make it a bar I would want to spend my own non-fictional afternoons in.”

Me too, Wes, me too.

Now, if I ever make it to Milan, I think it’s only appropriate to visit Bar Luce by Wes Anderson in an outfit inspired by one of his characters. I’ve pulled together an updated Margot Tenebaum outfit as well as one inspired by one of Anderson’s newer characters, Tilda Swinton’s inimitable Madame D. in The Grand Budapest Hotel:

Shop the Margot edit (with high-low options, because Margot would so love those Gucci loafers all the It Girls are wearing…and of course, a Birkin):
