I was scrolling through old interior crushes recently when it hit me: decorating with neon signs is always a good idea. This interior trend is all over chic coffee shops and restaurants (looking at you, Alfred Tea and Hampton Social)…so why not your own home?

Whether your style is boho and airy or trendy and funky, there’s a neon sign out there for you. They can be sweet (“you belong here” in Parachute CEO Ariel Kaye’s living room) or very, very sassy (the f-word hanging in a bedroom).

Plus, decorating with neon signs works in literally any room of the house. Don’t believe me? Check out Francesca Falzone’s bathroom below. If neon can look cool in a bathroom, it can look cool anywhere.

Neon in blogger Dallas Shaw’s living room livens up a traditional house.

The sign is custom and features Dallas’s own handwriting.

The “Love Me” neon sign above Kourtney Kardashian’s bed ups the glam factor to a million (in an already super-glam room).

Neon can work in minimal, boho spaces, as demonstrated by this plant shelf + “stay weird” combo.

Neon in the bathroom? It works.

The neon sign in Ariel Kaye’s living room is a sweet reminder…

…although the neon reminder in Chriselle Lim’s office might be my all-time favorite (it says “stay chic”).

Decorating with neon signs goes to a whole new level of sass in this bedroom, and I support it 100%.

While custom and designer neon signs can cost a pretty penny, there are plenty of affordable alternatives out there to get the look in your own home. I picked up an LED neon heart from Target last year that was on sale for like $20.

What do you think? Are you a fan of decorating with neon signs? I’m thinking that my neon heart would be perfect above a coffee bar…
