Or, how to look stylish in a theme park. I know, I know, it can seem like “style” and “theme park” are mutually exclusive — but they don’t have to be! Here’s what I packed when I visited my sister in Orlando earlier this month, and we spent pretty much all of our time gallivanting around Disney World and Universal Studios (yer a wizard, Abby!)

Bonus: this packing list is perfect for lots of warm-weather destinations, especially ones that involve a lot of walking. Thank goodness Nikes are currently fashionable, huh? Just toss in a bathing suit to the mix and you’re good to go for lots of long weekend trips — for Memorial Day and beyond!

So, here’s how to pack for Disney World and the outfits I put together while I was running around Diagon Alley and Magic Kingdom with my sister (though tbh, our version of carpool karaoke was probably the best part of the trip):

On the Plane

This was kind of tricky, since I was going from relatively cool weather in Chicago (it was only like 40 degrees when I left) to 80-plus degrees in Florida. I opted for a loose tank top, my favorite leggings, a sweatshirt and a utility jacket. Layers are key, whether you’re talking about onions, ogres or travel.

Day One

For all our theme park days (which also included side trips to vegan donut spots and multiple Orlando coffee shops), I opted for some variety of denim shorts and a t-shirt. The key is picking tops that are interesting and stylish to elevate the look. On day one of our trip, I also threw on my Cubs dad hat, because hometown pride. (Also, ’47 brand is the best brand for sports team dad hats, bar none.)

Day Two

On day two, we hung out in Diagon Alley and I discovered that while one Butterbeer is delicious, two will make your tummy hurt. Oh, and I opted to wear a flowy boho-style top while making this discovery.

Day Three

a.k.a Magic Kingdom day, a.k.a the day it was somewhat acceptable to bust out my Mickey Mouse ear hat even though I am a grown-ass woman.

And then, of course, I wore the exact same thing on the journey home as I did on the journey there. Here’s a full rundown of everything I brought with me, including similar styles for some of the items!

Let me know in the comments — are you heading anywhere fun for Memorial Day Weekend travel? And what’s on your packing list?
