OMG OSCARS RED CARPET 2017

Have I mentioned that Awards Season is one of my favorite times of year? Because Awards Season is one of my favorite times of year. A huge part of why, of course, is the red carpet fashion. This year was full of neutrals and whites and golds, which I can totally get behind. Sure, it wasn’t the most exciting or trendy or avant garde Oscars Red Carpet ever, but it was still pretty. And ultimately, that’s a big part of it, right?

Anyway, let’s be real, you’re all here for the pictures, not necessarily an essay about the red carpet, right? Take a peek at my best dressed picks below, plus some looks I didn’t really get and my favorite Oscars dress of all time.

Brie Larson in Oscar de la Renta.

Queen Chrissy Teigen in Zuhair Murad.

Emma Stone in Givenchy — love the flapper vibe.

Hailee Steinfeld in Ralph & Russo.

Karlie Kloss in Stella McCartney.

Octavia Spencer in Marchesa.

Taraji P. Henson in Alberta Ferretti.

Olivia Culpo in Marchesa. Fun fact: this is basically a beer dress. With a good cause. It was designed in collaboration with Stella Artois. The crystals and beading are actually shards of their special edition chalice. In addition to collaborating with Marchesa on the design, Stella Artois is donating five years of drinking water to women in the developing world.

Best dressed man: Pharrell in Chanel. I appreciate a man in jewelry, and I also appreciate Pharrell in Chanel.

Alright, moving right along. I know a lot of people liked this look, but I just don’t understand it. It looks to me like Jessica Biel is auditioning for The Lion King with that Tiffany necklace. Also, full disclosure, I’m not the biggest fan of Jessica Biel:

And finally, my favorite Oscar dress of all time, ever:

Mila Kunis is an absolute goddess in this lavender Elie Saab creation. Everyone points to, like, Julia Roberts in Ralph Lauren or Angelina Jolie’s leg or Sharon Stone’s Gap-and-Vera-Wang combo as their Oscars best dressed of all time, but I think this look is woefully underrated.

What were your favorite looks this year… or ever? Let me know in the comments!
