LINKS LOVED {FOR V DAY} – A Little LeopardA Little Leopard

Get it? I’m doing another links loved, because Valentine’s Day is next week?

Ugh, okay, I know, I have the worst puns. But here are some fun and interesting stories that have caught my eye lately, from past lives astrology to Instagram editing tricks and everything in-between:

Lady Gaga will be the first solo female artist to headline Wrigley Field this summer, and I managed to snag a pair of presale tickets. To celebrate, here are the most gif-able moments from her Super Bowl Halftime Show. And here is the full video, if you’d like to watch again. And here is a great piece by Phillip Picardi on why her performance was, in fact, political. Go, Gaga!

How yummy does a rose latte sound (especially for V-Day)?

Okay, so this article and video are actually like four years old, but the AstroTwins linked to it in their email today and it is fascinating. Scroll about halfway down for a super interesting, insightful interview with Ophi, one of the AstroTwins. She talks about beginnings and things like how to shift your focus, adapt and basically tune in with the universe. What really drew me in was the discussion of north and south nodes in astrology, which deal with your talents and passions and can help point you to your life’s purpose. NBD. Find out more about yours here!

Love Damsel in Dior’s video sharing her Instagram editing tricks — it seems to be a trending topic in the blogosphere lately! Personally, I just discovered Planoly and am obsessed with using it to plan and curate my feed. I don’t know how I managed without it. (Deleting photos that didn’t fit my grid like a peasant, that’s how.)

So, um, hate to burst your bubble, but it’s basically tax season already. Here are 10 mistakes you should avoid when filing this year. I use TurboTax every year, but my finances are fairly simple — in the past I’ve always been able to file for free, and this year I only had to pay a small fee due to a slightly more complicated return. Still, it’s worth it to me for the step-by-step guidance and easily accessible records!

I love me some Real Housewives. It’s not even a guilty pleasure at this point, just a straight up pleasure. So I also love this quick little piece about not apologizing for loving pop culture. Key quote:

You don’t need to argue that Gossip Girl is actually a sociopolitical treatise on class in New York City. (I just made that up so don’t ask me what it means.) You also don’t need to claim you watch The Bachelor to study gender dynamics in today’s Lean In career climate. You can just like that shit. Once you stop saying sorry for who you are, you won’t be able to stop.

Finally, I’ve been in a very pink mood for Valentine’s Day. It’s about as festive as I get…well that, and passing out printable valentines to my work friends. Anyway, here are some seasonally-appropriate items that I’m into lately — would make great galentine’s gifts or hints to significant others!

Happy weekend! Let me know if you have any fun V Day plans in the comments, or if you’re in the “ugh whatevs it’s such a dumb Hallmark holiday camp.” (aka my camp. Join me, it’s fun!)
