Five Outfits for Weird Spring Weather

I love this time of year: the sun is out, the days are longer and the world is full of promise. However, I don’t always love dressing for it. “Spring outfit” is probably my most-Googled term of the past couple weeks. Sometimes it’s gorgeous outside, sometime’s it’s a little chilly, and if you have a 9-to-5, it’s probably pretty cold in your office, too. (Blame dudes for that. No, seriously.)

Anyway, here are five killer outfit ideas for this weird weather time: one for each day of the week!

This is the perfect time of year to rock a lightweight trench, both indoors and out. Crystalin Marie, is wearing one of my absolute favorite pieces, a Banana Republic trench dress from last year. I wore a similar ensemble and got quite a few compliments on it: the lightweight trench look is just elevated enough while still being comfortable. The Banana Republic dress is sadly sold out, but there are plenty of alternate options out there.

Spring is practically begging you to embrace your inner Annie Hall and invest in a floppy hat. It’s the perfect topper to a simple jeans and chambray combination, which also happens to be a truly all-seasons outfit. Throw a jacket on for chillier days, and you’re set.

I’ve seen quite a few stylish girls in my office rock a vertical-stripe button down and/or camel coat and it makes me want both pieces. Damsel in Dior combines these trends in a spring outfit perfect for chillier days … complete with those Gucci loafers every blogger seems to own. Luckily, affordable versions of all these pieces aren’t too tough to find.

Leather jackets get a bit heavy for summer heat, so wear them now while you can. They look great when paired with all-season basics like stripes and trends like lace-up flats.

Finally, it’s hard to beat a classic jeans, t-shirt and sneakers combination. If it gets warm, knot your field jacket around your waist like the cool girl you are.
