Music for Your Weekend
We are officially (almost) a full week into spring. The sun is shining. Birds are chirping. And I don’t know about you, but I think those moments require a killer soundtrack.
These songs, a mix of contemporary alt/indie and classic hits (yes the Proclaimers are classics thank you very much), all have that sense of optimism that comes with the season. There’s the enthusiastic fiddling in “Kickin’ da Leaves” — I’m a sucker for a good violin — and even “Street Fighting Man” promises the revolution of summer, just around the corner. And, of course, I had to end it with the song the playlist is named after, “The First Days of Spring,” a typically bittersweet Noah and the Whale reflection on the season.
