Hey, world: the NSale officially opens to the public today! I have officially hidden my Nordstrom debit and credit cards from myself because I have done enough damage. But if you’ve yet to shop and are wondering what to buy at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, then may I suggest an entire outfit of easy fall staples that can also transition between seasons? Enter: this super stylish, deceptively simple combination from Hello Fashion that can be recreated entirely with pieces from the sale.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year — Nordstrom Anniversary Sale early access has officially started! Nordstrom is already one of my favorite places on the planet, but this sale truly takes the cake. What makes it so great? You get to shop new fall arrivals at discounted prices. As in, the pieces will still be there in August when the sale ends (unless they sell out, which is totally a thing that happens), just for lots more dolla dolla bills.

And all it takes to get this super-exclusive early access perk is a Nordstrom Card. If store cards scare you (which tbh they probably should), Nordstrom even has a debit card option that lets you earn all the same rewards as the credit card. Think $20 Nordstrom Notes to spend, personal triple points days and more perks!

So if it seems like the blogger world is freaking out over the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, it’s probably because we are. Seriously, the most difficult part is narrowing down what I am going to purchase. I work out now, so I totally need those Alo Yoga leggings. But also: mini Diptyque candles! And new fall clothes from favorite brands like Madewell! I quickly added, like, $500 worth of stuff to my cart and that’s not even tempting myself with this Rebecca Minkoff gorgeousness (which is also giving me major Chloe vibes).

This is why store credit cards should scare you, folks. I could easily max mine out at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale alone, which kind of defeats the point of the discount. Interest is the worst.

Here are some of the pieces that caught my eye during day one of the sale (and may or may not be in my cart right this very second):

  1. Halogen Lace-Up Flats: so on trend, and I’ve been wanting a pair for a long time now.
  2. Diptyque Votive Candle Set: I love fancy candles, but they normally cost $60+ a pop. Orrr you could just grab this set for $30 per candle. One mini Diptyque candle usually costs $30. Three full size for $90? That’s a steal.
  3. Rebecca Minkoff Saddle Bag: So Chloe-esque and I’m not at all mad about it.
  4. BP Leather Strap Watch: Under $20 alert! I decided recently I want an Apple watch, but this old fashioned option is great in the meantime. 😉
  5. Alo Sports Bra: As you may know, I recently joined ClassPass and discovered I don’t hate working out. I also discovered the wide world of fitness apparel. Alo is one of my favorite brands, and this sports bra is a steal at less than $30. You can never have too many sports bras.
  6. Nike Sneakers: There are a few classes on my  ClassPass “want-to-try” list that very adamantly require CLEAN gym shoes, NO street shoes. All my sneakers are street shoes at the moment, so these seem like a very good and cute way to fix that problem.
  7. 8G Essential Greens Booster Trio: I know, you don’t typically think of Nordstrom as a health-supplement supplier, right? But it’s the only place I can find these tablets! Seriously, not even Amazon.

Are you shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale? What did you score, or what’s on your list? Let me know in the comments!

Let freedom, and the (virtual) cash register ring! It may not be Nordstrom Anniversary Sale time yet, but you’ve still got one day to take advantage of some distinctly patriotic deals. Here are some of my favorites:

Aritiza – up to 60% off

My pick: Fabiana Dress

Farfetch – up to 70% off

My pick: Calvin Klein Jeans Cropped T-Shirt (so Kendall Jenner)

J.Crew – 40% off summer styles plus an extra 40-60% sale with code COOLSTYLES

My pick: use this as a chance to snag great basics like the silk cami and boy shirt

Topshop – up to 50% off

My pick: this Herve Leger-inspired dress is perfect for summer nights on the town

Urban Outfitters – extra 30% off sale items

My pick: this is the perfect time to snag a big-ticket item like a record player

Happy shopping! Spend those Benjamins wisely, and God bless America.

Attention, world: I have finally started working out, thanks largely to the magic of ClassPass. I may do a later post on how I found the motivation, got over the intimidation factor and became someone who actually kind of looks forward to exercising, but for now, I’m focusing on the fun part.

Shopping, of course! Shiny new athletic and athleisure wear is a big part of why we all do this, right?

And speaking of shiny and new, I’ve had these Alo Yoga Moto Leggings sitting in my cart for awhile. I am trying to expand my workout-clothes horizons beyond Lululemon, although I do love a good Lululemon legging. I discovered Alo while shopping Nordstrom’s Half-Yearly Sale and it turns out, I kind of love it. It’s a Los Angeles-based fitness brand with some definite California-cool vibes — very street to studio. Or barre to bar, as the case may be. Oh, and unlike Lululemon, it actually goes on sale, and you can find Alo at Nordstrom Rack, too! Bonus: it’s a legit celebrity favorite.

Which brings us back to the leggings, specifically. Pretty much every it girl and model under the sun has been spotted out and about in Alo moto leggings, like Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid. Which is cool, if you’re into that sort of thing… and I am.

Image: Who What Wear

I love that they’re edgier than your average legging thanks to the moto detailing and almost leather-like look. There are few things better than a great pair of leather or faux-leather pants, so even better if my workout clothes have that vibe, right? Heck, you could probably wear them on a night out because they’re just so cool, and no one would be the wiser that you are rocking leggings aka the comfiest pants ever. Yes, $110 is a little steep, but luckily Alo is also sold on Amazon. Guess who happens to have an Amazon gift card? This girl!

So… should I do it? Should I bite the bullet and buy these guys? Or is there better stuff to spend my Amazon gift card on out there?

My personal style, much like my decor style, tends toward a more minimal and neutral aesthetic. Think denim all day every day and a palette that consists mostly of black, black and grey (I figure as a natural redhead, I’ve got enough color on top of my head). So it makes sense that I absolutely love the trend of minimal cool-girl jewelry, currently seen in ring stacks across Instagram — and one brand that does it particularly well is Katie Dean Jewelry.

I actually discovered her via this Instagram, and anyone who loves matcha that much is pretty much already good in my book. Plus, I’m really into the California-boho vibes she brings to the minimal jewelry trend.

Katie is originally from Michigan (Midwestern girl shout out!) and moved to Los Angeles to serve her creative side and develop as an artist. She started making jewelry from a closet out of her apartment, and after years of hard work and hustle, Katie Dean Jewelry really took off.

For others who want to work in a creative field or as artists, Katie recommends getting a job (whether full or part time) in your field of interest. “Even if it’s only remotely related to your dream endeavor, I still think it’s important to secure something when you’re still figuring out how to make money in your craft,” she told LA Lady Magazine. “I personally feel that it’s hard to be creative when you’re constantly worried about how to pay rent. And just because you agree to do a job doesn’t mean you are stuck there forever, learn the from your mistakes while still earning a paycheck!”

I really love her perfectly stackable rings, especially the gold evil eye ring. You can shop her designs directly via her website, or through major sites like Amazon and Forever 21. (Um, get it, girl.)

Here are some of my favorite Katie Dean Jewelry looks (it helps that I also just love the space she shoots in and it’s total #decorgoals):

What do you think? Are you a fan of Katie’s boho-minimal jewelry?
